The blue colored text in the body of Geronimo's HTML essay signals a link the author has inserted into the linear essay. These links take the user from Geronimo's web page to websites that help support his claims about the impact of the internet on Dominican identity and culture.
Stripped of these links, however, the essay is reduced to a traditional academic research essay published as an HTML document—an HTML essay.
