I am a wife, mother, volunteer, scholar, and educator. I currently lecture in the department of Writing & Language Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and I am a PhD candidate (Cultural Rhetorics) at Old Dominion University. My research interests include: cultural rhetorics; Chicana feminism; critical refugee studies; transnational rhetorical feminism; and rhetorical ecologies. My work has been featured in various peer-reviewed journals and books, most recently in the anthology, Travelln’ Mama: Mothers, Mothering and Travel (2019) and Postcolonial Text (2019). When I am not with my wonderful family, I am usually writing in my head, as I run for miles.
