His scholarship focuses broadly on rhetorical theory, with special interest in the ancient and comparative rhetorical and pedagogical theory, as well as questions of conflict, violence, and death throughout many discourses. His future book project hopes to explore the ancient Greek martial art, pankration, putting into conversation with ancient sophistic rhetoric and contemporary argumentation theory. His current project uses professional wrestling as a lens for engaging with Platonic dialogues.
